The time has finally arrived! I have decided to bring my skills to the homeschooling community in a way that I never have before! I am very excited to announce that I will be starting my very own learning pod in the West Katy area. My vision is to create a learning space and community where families feel heard, seen, and truly a part of their child’s learning experience. My goal is that the learning pod be a one-on-one experience between myself and each family; therefore I will only be accepting a maximum of 5 children per semester.
The learning pod is open to grades prek-3rd. Therefore, this program is most suitable for ages 4-10. I also strive to bring flexibility to this learning pod that a traditional brick and mortar might not. Parents will be allowed to select which days their child attends as well as full or half-day.
The learning pod will focus on enhancing the foundations of reading, writing, and math. All families will be required to go through an application process, classroom tour, and a formal meeting to discuss goals prior to the start date. The learning pod will be unique in that each day will begin with a morning mindful activity and outdoor/physical play will be weaved throughout the instructional day.
All curriculum and activities will be preapproved by the parents. Parents will also be encouraged to join in the planning/teaching if they desire to. The learning pod will include regular parent meetings and events such as opportunities for students to present projects. The learning pod has no religious or political affiliation. Religion, family tradition, holidays, and worldly events will not be present in the content taught. The curriculum will include literacy and mathematics only. This is a secular learning pod and open to all.
The learning pod is set to open Feb. 2023.
